After a roller-coaster ride of a honeymoon in Venice, Sibeal “Beth” Getty and her husband, Shane, are eager to settle into the comforts of married life. Beth is resuming her modeling career, and Shane has landed a new job as an art theft detective. But their domesticity is short-lived when Beth learns that her actress friend is accused of murdering a Hollywood director, and she races to the movie location. Buried in work, Shane pursues the theft of several masterpieces belonging to an A-list actor.
Desperate to clear her friend of murder, Beth relies on her fey, her sixth sense, for guidance. Details surrounding the mysterious death curiously parallel the unsolved murder of a 1922 movie director. Beth soon realizes that the unquenchable appetite for sex, drugs, and blind ambition, a mainstay of old Tinseltown, is alive and well on the current movie set. Faced with a dizzying array of suspects, Beth must ferret out who has the most to gain from the director’s death. In one last bid to link the clues, she speculates that the stolen art and the murder are connected. To find the truth, Beth must uncover the shadowy forces at play before she becomes the killer’s next victim.
