Synopsis

The Girl Before: A Novel by JP Delaney: Conversation Starters

One Folgate Street is a beautiful, minimalist house built by its obsessive architect and owner, Edward Monkford. A girl named Emma used to live in the house, but she is now dead. Jane now lives in the same house and is attracted to Edward, but discovers that she and Emma are physically identical, and the girl before was similarly involved with Edward. Jane suspects there are secrets hidden in the house, which imposes its minimalist ideal on its unsuspecting residents. Can she trust its owner? But there are equally suspicious people—-- Emma’s boyfriend, the psychotherapist, and even that mysterious guys who deliver flowers to the house.
