A Christmas Carol is a novella by Charles Dickens, first published in 1843. The book narrates the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an aged miser who is haunted by the ghost of his former associate partner Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. After meeting them, Scrooge is turned into a kinder, milder person.
