Synopsis
In 1962 President Macapagal of the Philippines laid his government’s claim to Sabah, a British colony then due for independence. When in 1963 Sabah joined the Federation of Malaysia the claim was preferred against the new Federation. The tension that has resulted from the dispute has sorely tried the patience of both Governments, and the relationship between the two countries has never been tha same again.
