HAICA:Human–AI Collaborative Assessment for Problem-Solving in Programming by Jawahir Che Mustapha

The rapid growth of generative artificial intelligence is reshaping how students learn, complete assignments, and solve problems in higher education. While AI tools can support learning, they also raise an important question: how can educators ensure that students truly understand what they produce? This book introduces HAICA (Human–AI Collaborative Assessment), an innovative approach that guides students to collaborate responsibly with AI while maintaining human ownership of reasoning. Through structured prompts, collaborative roles, and transparent assessment mechanisms, HAICA transforms AI from a shortcut for answers into a partner for deeper thinking.
