There is no peace in Greece. Athens and Sparta fight with each other, Greeks of Asia Manor prepare a revolt against the Persian king Darius, the Greek colonies of the Northern Black Sea coast are struggling for survival among the Scythians. But even in the most difficult times, there is a peaceful place where any Hellene can come. It is Olympia, where the Olympic Games are hold every four years. Hector of Athens, Cleanthes of Sparta, Leander of Karkinitis are dreaming of winning them from childhood, but victory is just the beginning of a journey in which even the Olympic champion will not avoid defeats and losses. The roads of the characters are crossing and diverging, they meet in peaceful Olympia and on the battlefield. Hector and Cleanthes become enemies, Leander almost died in the fire of Ionian revolt, hoping to forget the war and return home. The threat of Persian invasion into Hellas enforces all three men to make one choice. Ahead of them are the battles of Marathon, Thermopylae, Salamis and Plataea, when the fate of Greece will be on the verge of collapse.

Гектор из Афин, Клеант из Спарты, Леандр из Каркинитиды с детства мечтают на них победить, но победа - лишь начало пути, на котором даже олимпийский чемпион не избежит поражений и потерь. Судьбы героев переплетаются и расходятся, они встречаются то в мирной Олимпии, то на поле боя. Гектор и Клеант становятся врагами, Леандр едва не гибнет в пожаре ионийского восстания, мечтая забыть о войне и вернуться домой. Угроза персидского нашествия заставляет всех троих сделать один выбор. Впереди у них битвы при Марафоне, Фермопилах, Саламине и Платеях, когда судьба Эллады повиснет на волоске.
