The story of a girl. Born into upper middle class privilege, her family is defeated by tragedies. Lilly is a scornful teenager who turns to her boyfriend for support and away from her family. Her boyfriend is a working class kid with the brains and aspiration to transcend social class. The story is a love story with a twist of the knife type heartache.
