In Malaysia, the Communicative Approach had been introduced to the education curriculum through English subject since 1988 in which all the four skills are being integrated to achieve the target of producing the manpower who are compatible with the knowledge and also mastery of the communication skill. With the introduction of the Integrated Curriculum for Secondary School (KBSM) in 1988, the three areas of language are integrated with the four main skills of reading, listening, speaking and writing under a communicative framework.
