Families fascinate, frustrate and at times, irritate. So it was with the family of Gennaro and Maria Lodato. They struggled, made mistakes, cried together, laughed together. Underneath it all they stuck together. Their loyalty to each other helped them navigate troubled waters. Because opportunities were limited, they became astute in taking advantage of each one which was given them. They were also very protective of family foibles and flaws.
