Synopsis
Ambidextrous is an incredible story of survival. This autobiography tells of the authors life from 1977-2002. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., he fought his way through those streets from childhood. He wasn't your ordinary thug. The book picks up in 1978 when he finished college by which time he was a hardcore heroin addict. Initially, a street drug dealer, he had brushes with the law but managed to stay out of prison until 1980, when he was convicted of multiple armed robberies. He was charged with 32 stick-ups. He robbed primarily pharmacies. In a twelve year period from 1980-1992 he spent nine years in various prisons. He details prison life like no author before him. He contracted HIV and HepC and the story continues for nine years in Chicago. Near death, his cousin brings him to Florida in 2002. There, a caseworker convinces him he can change.
