Synopsis

The quest for excellence in teaching and learning within the school milieu, has revealed among other things, that information pertaining to areas of bilingualism and intelligence in the country are highly inadequate. Thus, it is hoped that this book will contribute to the addition of knowledge in the field of bilingualism in this country. Hopefully, the research findings could contribute towards the formulations of a plan of action by policy makers, curriculum planners and language educators, as it would provide valuable input for them in improving our current language education practices, especially as the country’s educational system is embracing the information technology era. At the pedagogical level, this book can also provide useful input to language educators, or school teachers, in utilizing more effective teaching strategies and methods to produce students who are competent in more than one language.
