Synopsis
This contemporary handy book is designed and written for medical students, undergraduate and postgraduate, as well as doctors of all ages. While its primary objective is to provide pre‐clinical and clinical teachers in medical schools the subjects or topics on which they could rely to impart medical ethics, etiquette and basic law, whether in the lecture room or at bed‐side teaching to medical students, the contents, particularly on etiquette, should stimulate doctors to submerge themselves deeper into the many caring and compassionate nuances relating to patient care, which would have previously seemed irrelevant and belonging to an era gone by. Laws and regulations are becoming increasingly important in the potentially litigious environment in which doctors practise, and this book is to help them in their efforts to steer clear of trouble.
The book will also provide an interesting insight into the many facets of medical practice for non‐ medical readers, who will find the sprinkling of literary references and anecdotes scintillating and subtly diminish the tedium normally inherent in a standard medical text.
