The author has lived in Senegal, West Africa for over fifty years. He is co-founder of Africa Consultants International (ACI), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that promotes cross-cultural communication, health and social justice. ACI has been a key player in the response to the HIV epidemic in Senegal and has worked extensively in reproductive health and the promotion of LGBT rights.
In this volume of memoirs and short stories, he shares incidents that contributed to his growing understanding of the culture of this country that he loved at first sight and grew to love even more over the years.
